Monday is "Moon's Day"
In Greece, the days of the week were named for the sun, moon and the gods Ares, Hermes, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Cronus, which were also the names of their five known planets. The Romans named the days for their gods Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. Germanic / Scandinavian / Norse peoples used their gods Tiu (god of war and son of Odin), Woden (the Norse god Odin), Thor (god of war, son of Odin), Freya or Frigg (Norse Pagan goddess, wife of Odin), and also used the name Saturn. The use of these names survive to this day in our English version...
